Bed bugs are small, brown bugs. They feed on blood, can move quickly, and are nocturnal.
- Look carefully for bugs in mattress corners or bedding
- Wash clothing after travel and inspect hotel rooms for bed bugs

Confused flour beetles are small and reddish brown in color.
- Find these pests in flour, rice, nuts and beans
- Store food in airtight containers

As their name suggests, silverfish have a silvery color, and have three prongs on their rear. They are nocturnal.
- Find them in dark, damp areas
- Keep humid areas very clean and dry as possible
Pavement ant

Pavement ant

Pavement ants are black or brown and have pale antennae. They are small in size, and are able to sting if needed.
- These ants live in cracks in the ground and other protected places
- Find and fix cracks in foundation and near windows
Oriental cockroach

Oriental cockroach

Oriental cockroaches are shiny, and range from black to brown in color.
- These bugs are attracted to decaying material
- Watch for these pests outdoors under landscaping or near drains

House crickets range in color from yellow to brown and have six legs.
- House crickets are typically in basements, garages and other moist areas
- Reduce areas of moisture and increase ventilation in damp areas

Clothes moth

Clothing moths are about 1/2 inch long and usually gold in color.
- Found in closets, under furniture, in areas that are not disturbed
- Frequent vacuuming can be helpful, as can moving clothing around and storing in airtight containers

- Keep the home clean
- Mow lawn frequently and keep tall plants and grasses to a minimum
- Run a flea comb through pets' coats before going inside

Centipedes have long bodies with many pairs of legs and antennae. These insects are fast-moving and feed primarily on other insects. The are mostly nocturnal.
- Found in damp areas
- Keep basement as dry as possible and seal entry areas
Brown recluse

Brown recluse

The brown recluse is a medium-sized spider, usually brown in color, and may have black markings like a violin.
These spiders are poisonous.
- They live in dark, secluded areas
- Get rid of trash around the outside of the house
